The Dead

The Dead Poster

What would you do stuck thousands of miles away on a different continent when the Zombie Apocalypse happens?  That's the very question this movie happens to try to answer.  A low budget zombie film that has a lot better acting than Zombie Strippers and a decent story.  The only thing was how the same zombies killed earlier are back trying to kill them again.

Chronicle

Chronicle Poster

Impressed.  Not since Unbreakable has a movie captured the transformation of an ordinary person to one with super powers.  Capturing the emotion and responsibility of such a change and the circumstances in that change.  The interesting way they do the camera work, displays the movie in a documentary style, hence the name.  Once you get past this you come to enjoy the effect and not notice the change in cameras.  A chronicle of 3 young men as they learn to control their powers and the situations that force them to become something they never thought possible.  The most powerful part of this movie is not the power the boys develop but the issue of "Great Power, Great Responsibility..." and how abuse and a shit home life will ultimately make you into someone who wants revenge.  For me this was the real message.  Don't abuse your kids or they will end up destroying half of Seattle.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence

Better than the original if your tripping balls.  Very cool effects in the way they did the transformation but the CGI could of been better.  This is one of Marvel's premier characters and they still aren't getting the story right.  But what the hell can you do when you have Hollywood involved.  Not bad but could of done better.

Shoot yourself in the head it will help.  This movie isn't bad in the way of acting but something about it makes it go on and on forever.  If it was broken up into a TV show I think it would of been more enjoyable as I didn't have to sit through the entire thing at one time.  The President of Disney deserved to lose his job over this one.  Over 230 million dollars spent on the movie and they didn't even make half of it back.  Yep it was awful.

The Vow

 The Vow Poster

Channing Tatum's attempt to show his sensitive side was not bad but I think he should stick to the ass kicking that has made him who he is in Hollywood.  The story was interesting in the director's commentary in how people who are meant to be together will find their way to each other no matter what.  The side commentary about the evolution of a person was subtle resulting in a nice discussion for after the movie ends.  Watchable.

Just like all the other ghost movies.  Only thing good was the overall creepiness of the movie.  Depressing and sad.
